A few days ago I did a wash and go using Cantu hair products. Cantu is one of those brands that you see everywhere you go. Target, Walmart, drugstores and beauty supply stores have carried this brand from the beginning of the Natural Hair wave. I have to admit that I never gave them a thorough try. I found other brands that worked for me early on and stuck to them. So the other day while I roamed the aisles of Target Cantu’s orange containers caught my eye and the last thing I remember is cruising through self check-out with 6 of their items.
I just needed to scratch my Cantu itch. I wanted to know once and for all if my hair would be a fan of this ubiquitous brand. So, I dove right in. I used their shampoo, conditioner, coconut curling cream and styling gel to cleanse and style my hair. Two things that stood out about the shampoo and conditioner is that a little goes a long way and although the price points are lower they do not lack in quality at all. The coconut curling cream is a bit more runny than I prefer for my cream products but that did not affect the performance of the product. My favorite item of this review is the styling gel. It ran through my hair flawlessly and once it dried there was no crunchiness or flaking. My curls were left beautifully defined.
Would I recommend Cantu?
So what’s the verdict on Cantu? I would absolutely recommend using their products! They are perfect for someone who doesn’t want to over spend on hair products but also doesn’t want to sacrifice quality. My favorite items were the shampoo, conditioner and styling gel. The products I used would be perfect for a wash and go or twist out. I will certainly be using the rest of my Cantu items!
